My favorite project was a special order from a group of people whose friend had purchased her dream home.
They provided me with stolen pictures of her dogs, and for the welcome sign gave me details for her favorite flowers and birds. To give an idea of just how big those rocks are, the slate Welcome sign is 15 inches wide.
We had just moved here in the fall of 2007 and I found those 2 rocks in the creek closest to my home next to the area where local fishermen launch their boats. I had picked up those rocks purely because the shapes interested me and I hadn't quite decided what to do with them yet. I love it when life just works the way I need it to.

What a neat gift idea for her new house!
I too collect rocks, until I get an accumulation. Then I invariably say to myself, "What are you, nuts? Collecting all these rocks in a basket?" Then I have to take them back to the beach or the woods so they can go back to the earth.

Butterose What I find totally cool is when I enter a new clients home and actually find something I've painted that was hard for me to part with. There was this grey kitten I had done with bright blue eyes and although I did sell it at a craft show, I hadn't wanted to. I went to a new client today. That rock is kept in a small oval basket with a small bright blue yarn ball for it to play with. The look of shock on my face made her think something was wrong with me. When I found my voice and explained it, she started crying. The buyer was her daughter who has since died of cancer. I'm now glad I sold that rock.
