It's very saddening to me to watch people tout beliefs that are based on personal injuries. Let go and experience life!

nothingprofound Reminds me of the Mark Twain comment: "The cat, having sat upon a hot stove lid, will not sit upon a hot stove lid again. Nor upon a cold stove lid." People get burnt in one relationship or situation and then generalize that it's all hopeless. Sometimes it's better not to learn from one's experience.

Butterose My grandmother always said "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I believe there needs to be a balance between being wary based on personal experience and being open to new people and relationships.

My grandmother held onto her bitterness & anger right to the grave. By rendering herself incapable of forgiveness by choice she sent years in misery when she could have experienced joy. I think those who hold onto grudges and suck from the cup of bitterness wither up and die like grass blades that need water & only get blazing sun.
