Theresa111 You could get in touch with Matel and ask them if you could write a cartoon for Barbie and her friends, using posed barbie dolls. It could be a lot of fun, and all the barbie fans could stay glued to their tv sets and hang on Barbie's every word. Even though I don't like dolls I would tune in if the writing is funny. Dream on it.

Sebastyne I doubt they'd go for it. They have Barbie-movies anyway, and they wouldn't put it on the Telly for adult collectors I doubt very much. Adults would also probably want to hear something a bit naughty, and Mattel is notorious for not wanting any of that. However, have a look at this for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF4alV4JWqg

Theresa111 But HBO might.

Theresa111 One of my very favorites was "Greg The Bunny", it aired on regular television but was later cancelled. There were plenty of GTB shows on HBO and they were a bit raunchy, but all in good taste. I loved that little guy and his friends! My thing is stuffed animals that are plush, soft and who wear great expressions.

Sebastyne If HBO, or any other TV channel has any sense in them, they won't touch Mattel's trademark with a six foot pole. :p Simply using Barbie-dolls would be risky even if Barbie wasn't mentioned, and then it would be just another doll animation in the end.

markgeller How did you get involved in this vocation/hobby?

Sebastyne Cut a long story short, Mark, as a kid I loved Barbie, but never could have as many as I wanted. Around the age of 10 I saw a TV interview of a Barbie collector and thought that's what I'm going to do when I grow up. I forgot about it for years, then my friend got me a Barbie for my 27th birthday as a joke, but the joke jolted the old childhood dream into action and I started collecting. As I'm a web designer of a sort, a natural progression was to create a website and so forth. :)

markgeller Cool. I was a huge GI Joe guy as a kid. Don't know if you had them in Australia, but back in the day it was a boy's equivalent. Spent hours in imaginative play. Very fond memories. I wonder if they can be found today. Most certainly are collectibles.

Sebastyne I don't know about Australia either, as I wasn't born here - I'm Finnish - but we had the Action Man at least. I think G.I. Joe was in the mix. My brother had a Barbie and a Ken though, and they acted as action figures anyway. (The glittery suit was soon replaced with a cow boy outfit!) G.I. Joe can MOST DEFINITELY be found still - have a search on eBay to see! He even has his own category. :) http://toys.shop.ebay.com.au/GI-Joe-/1167/i.html?_...

Sebastyne And oops - I gave you the Aussie ebay address, but I'm sure you'll find your way to US ebay just as easily. :)
