It's bad enough when people poison the earth with chemicals so that they can have perfectly manicured, dandelion free lawns, but if you're so eager for a nice yard that you have to dump toxins on it, couldn't you...I don't know...MOW? Or pick up the garbage?

Jayme

Jayme I read somewhere how bad it is for cats , because they walk on it and lick their paws...and not to mention kids who play on the grass.

TIFFLS Yep--my daughter and her friends rolled down a hill at a church once where the lawn had been treated the day before (warning signs only stayup for 24 hours--after that it's supposedly safe) and all got rashes on their arms and legs. It affects small wild animals, too, not to mention runoff into vegetable gardens and such. Evil all around.

WAYLANDCOOK We have a chemical free lawn. It is full of weeds and we like it that way. We have bees so they love it too.

LyndaLehmann most people are not the slightest bit troubled that bees have an aids-like syndrome and are dying out, or that frogs are disappearing. as long as they have their green-grass yards and fancy BBQs, they seem to feel everything is okay. for them, the food chain is a foreign concept. "inter-relatedness"? what's that?
