Listening to "Bookends" a CD by Simon & Garfunkel. Joe bought it at Borders a few months back, so I am giving it a listen to understand why.

What is the reason that we have so many different tastes in music, clothes, places to live, subjects to study, foods to eat? Why do we have such varied desires, habits, inclinations and passions? What makes us tick?

Can you tell me a little about yourself and your proclivities? Do you embrace change? To you fight the future or go with the flow? Do you think about life's choices or do you hide yourself away?

Butterose

Butterose "Bookends" is not a favorite of mine except for "Mrs. Robinson". For me, anyone wanting to understand the Simon and Garfunkel experience should listen to the "Sounds of Silence" album.

numby S&G always give me reminiscent thoughts which can provide mental security, but they also make Numby feel wistful sometimes for some of the great times I had in the past that are gone

LyndaLehmann Oh my, you must be a LOT younger than I am! I grew up on S & G! They gave me a lot of comfort in those turbulent times, when I was at PSU.

Theresa111 To clarify, I wanted to figure out why Joe waited until now to purchase this particular S&G CD. I understand their music. I was seeing if I would hear what my husband was seeking within the music.

Then ... I mused aloud and asked particular questions of anyone on friedeggs.
