Me: my life seems to be mirroring the progression of the internet. My mom: Well, Al Gore had nothing to do with your inception.
1 person likes this.Theresa111 Good one. Your Mother gets 100 points.
efuller And, yet, it's another thing I have in common with the internet.
For the record, Clinton had nothing to do with it either, and that's an even greater distinction. -
What do you consider to be the significance of the nakedness dream? Commonly placed in a classroom but other venues are equally of interest.
1 person likes this.GreenLady7 I had a friend years ago who copied with the nakedness dream this way (and lucky her, she was only nude from the waist up). She went to the nearest person and asked for help, for something to wear. This person gave her a beautiful and very colorful coat and insisted she keep it. Smart cookie!
efuller I am interested in the abstract analysis of the nakedness dream as an exploration of the social significance of clothing and the lack of them.

Well, no more threats of being sent to a convent. Even my mom now acknowledges that the threat has lost its sting. It just gets old. As do i

Nothing like watching Iron Man 2 to get one geared up for more research on casual wearable prosthetics. Show in 28 days. Talk in 3 months.

There is something wrong with this world
that keeps making allusions to protective garlic consumption and readily available stake stores whenever I come to visit. Why do people say such things (and wave such vile relics in my face)?

Hm, scanning talk2myshirt. I love how everyone who hears about what I do suggest warming/cooling clothes and presume its a new idea.

I get so angry when people I care about are hurt by people they care about.
Theresa111 It's a viscious circle sometimes. I feel the same way you do.
Butterose Sometimes hurts are unintentional, but those that occur because someone is too self centered to really care make me angry.

I think I'm going to write a blog post "In Defense of The Stepford Wives" It was a bad movie but good at the same time.
I almost feel that some of the bad opinions are the result of the very feminism backlash that the movie speaks to.
Lines like: "Only castrating, Manhattan career bitches wear black. Is that what you want to be?" "Ever since I was a little girl." really speak to me.
It feeds into the new…

I'm pulling a Lady of Shallot move here: jumping into my ivory tower and staring at the world through my distorted mirror of the internet.
1 person likes this.infurl Sometimes when my wife and kids go away on a trip I like to see how many days I can go without talking to or messaging anyone (I pretend that my dog doesn't count). It's amazing how peaceful life becomes after a day or two of solitude, and how lonely after a week.
efuller hehe. yeah. Well, I'm visiting my parents but also taking advantage of the extra space to work without being distracted by parties and the like.

I'm looking at taking the next two weeks off to go into seclusion for some focused work on my dress before I commit myself to a job hunt
that will probably give me little time between the end of the hunt and the job itself.
1 person likes this.Theresa111 I do not sew or anything like that, but there are times I am granted some fashionable design whimsy. Should I share in case that happens sometime?
efuller I'm all about creative collaboration.

OK, celebration phase is over. It's time to get serious. Where is that headhunter's number?
1 person likes this.Theresa111 Remember, stay focused and tell them what you offer but also what you want. Keep the ball in your court. I'm rooting for you.
efuller Right, fair enough. At this point I've seen the kind of interest there is for my old skills, but I want to leverage those to make a transition.

I am not a fan of the jobs recruiters have been approaching me with. I know it's a tight market, but Im allowed to be sort of picky, right?
tonyberkman yes
markgeller Head hunters? You cannot offend a head hunter. You are the only way they make money. Task them with finding the right job for you and don't feel pressured by them to take something you do not want.

GreenLady7 If, by you, this is slightly naughty, then my dear, you Really need to get out a little more. There are three three-day summer weekends each year, and that's it for nine long months. Make sure you reserve some of them for yourself. Enjoy right now! ;-)

efuller Haha,
well, I'm in pseudo artistic seclusion while getting work done then it's back to New York and day long brunches and fashion galas.
