infurl I've been looking at these photos trying to match up the land marks because apart from the river I couldn't find anything in common at all.
Just spotted something though.
The lower photograph was taken from considerably further away from the river than the first photograph so the perspective is different. The prominent brown pointy tower in the left foreground of the upper photograph has been painted green and is floodlit in the lower photograph, still visible against the river among all the new towers.

infurl The clock tower on the right of the upper picture is also visible in the lower picture, floodlit and looking very tiny a bit to the left of centre.
I haven't been back to my hometown of Brisbane for twenty years... I wonder how much it has changed in that time. I've looked at photos but they were unrecognisable too.
