We get all caught up in external stuff, containers that really don't matter and miss the essence - life.

I liked the story and the message and hope others will too.

Live simply ~ Care deeply ~ Give generously

**MUSIC WARNING** I suggest you turn your speakers down before watching as the music is quite loud and overblown.

LyndaLehmann I truly believe that "Less is more." (Not when you're going hungry or find yourself homeless, of course. And not if you feel unloved, etc.)
But life is a great big cup of beauty. I drink from it every day, in great joy and gratitude.

timethief @Lynda I love what you said. :) My husband & I made the less is more choice over 30 years ago when we left the city and moved to the gilf islands. Our life is a very simple one. We don't own any of the common electronic devices like ipods and cell phones, etc. We made a commitment to each other to exit the consumer driven society and we have no regrets. Some folks who visit us remark on how simple our life is as though they would be suffering if they lived like we do. Little do they know. Their lives are full of crap and credit card bills and stress. Our life is not abundant in "things". We have no credit card bills and we have far less stress. I think most people entirely miss the essence of life. Don't you?

timethief @RecycleCindy I'm so happy you liked it. Except for the overbearing music I loved it too and that's why I posted it. Have a wonderful Earth Day.

LyndaLehmann timethief, I love what YOU said! You and your husband made an intelligent choice. We are far too encumbered by and preoccupied with our material accouterments, and with being entertained, as well.

We go to Maine in the summer and live in a tiny house surrounded by nature. We drive old cars and forego a lot of the trappings our friends have. But we are both happy as larks up there. Just give me those sunsets from the canoe, enveloped by an unworldly red-orange glow and bangles of light all over the lake, and I'm in heaven.

Aren't we fortunate? :)

PS - I think of every day as Earth Day, because I feel always connected to the earth--through my experiences in nature and art and writing. You must spend a lot of time out in nature, too!
