  2. efuller Hello my lovely friends of the friedeggs! I am pleased to share a new endeavor that has kept me out of the social sphere of late: score.ly

Score.ly is an achievements aggregator in it's alpha phase. We are excited about where it will go, but at present, we would love to see how you use it now and what you think. Please, create an account and collect your achievements in Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Gowalla, Xbox, Netflix and…

legbamel I know you can get "achievements" on games at FB and of course on the Xbox, but what achievements can you get on Netflix and Twitter?

  3. tonyberkman Facebook is far too closed, and is collecting way too much of our personal information without sharing #com2010

I was at a conference today and one of the presenters mentioned that Facebook is interesting because they have all our data and that "he is going to stay on FB forever because it's a pain to move my data, and that they are open just enough so that we won't move."

    It's probably an accurate…

    efuller

efuller @timetheif I disagree. While paradoxical as it may be, I feel that the functionality in facebook, for me at least, comes more as a way to maintain interactions with aquaintances rather than friends. I talk with my close friends face to face, but I don't have time to rigorously maintain contact with everyone. Facebook can be an easy pull medium that allows me check up on an acquaintance or push me big events in the lives of minor friends. I'm happy to hear about a friend dating, even if we aren't close enough for me to be actively pinging them about their relationship status once a month.

As for the business argument, yes, we are the commodity. But it is important to be monitoring and challenging the line of privacy. When I had a hard break up a year ago, it was relevant for my friends to see the change but I found it emotionally insulting, disturbing, and simply hurtful to visit Facebook in the following months because of all the adds offering dating services, diet programs, and "ways to get him back." On a business level, yes, it makes sense. But I am not a business, I am a human. And on a human level, it was wrong to exploit my emotional vulnerabilities to make a cheap buck.

  4. WineCountryInn Mashable: A #socialmedia site good for telling you about stuff you've never heard of so you'll feel like ignorant dork for falling behind.

So Groupon is now valuated at $1 billion. What the hell is Groupon? For Crissakes I just mastered FourSquare and WildFire! I think the Mashable folks are just making s**t up, now.

    WineCountryInn

WineCountryInn I think Groupon is a type of freshwater fish. Or a felony offense. I'm not quite sure.

    Butterose

Butterose Group buying for events and things to be enjoyed in your hometown. I looked it up. They make an offer and you have to get lots of people to sign up in order to get it. Todays NY State offer is in Rochester, some 200 miles away from me. I'll get right on that. LOL
