1. tonyberkman good news for US Drug Policy ... the administration is focused on science not politics when it comes to the war on drugs

The White House's Latest Drug Policy Plan Is Actually Based On Science

In the U.S., how the government approaches drugs has very little to do with science. The War on Drugs has put the focus on incarceration and enforcement, not on the public health aspects of addiction. We classify drugs…

  2. tonyberkman It's Good to be the King! The US State Department has released a list of gifts received by Pres. Obama! They're pretty sweet.

Obama has received quite a few gifts from World Leaders, as I'm sure other Presis. have too.

Since I have no clue what the former Presdient's receives it's quite telling to see what Obama has received, in 2011, though my guess he probably has received nicer gifts that G.W. though who the heck…

  6. tonyberkman Alexis de Tocqueville would no longer recognise America, the land of Obama, the land of big government.

love America. It’s like a second home to me. We have close family friends in south-west Georgia, people I’ve been visiting on and off since I was a child. It’s the old Georgia, semi-rural Georgia, a town surrounded by cotton fields, further from the chaos of Atlanta than mere distance…

  7. tonyberkman Romney Rises

At last there would seem to be a way beyond the Obama nightmare, a way beyond a nation divided against itself.

I read today in the Sunday Telegraph that until recently Barack Obama’s re-election was regarded as inevitable. Really; after what must count as four disastrous years and conceivably…

That's pretty cool being followed by the President.

  9. scribadiva Right now, I can't believe the footage from Oakland. A Vet is in critical condition from last night. Rethugs blaming Obama.

Most people don't know this, but in order to pass the first Stimulus package, Obama gave in to Rethuglican demands to strip the bill of money for state and local governments. Of course, this is but a small, but critical piece of legislation. As they say, All politics are local.

A double dip recession seems imminent according to many respected economists.

Occupy Wall Street was probably supposed to be Occupy Washington

Does Obama have a chance of being re-elected?
