1. tonyberkman Whales Like Humans Pass on Good Ideas to Each Other

Researchers have discovered that a new way to fish created by a humpback whale was passed on through all those living in a particular area of ocean.

The technique was developed after the whales were hit by a food crisis. After close to 30 years the idea had spread to 40% of the humpback population…

  3. Canadian Russia causing worst ecological disaster ever: http://www.ethicaloil.org/news/russia-causing-worlds-worst-ecological-oil-catastrophe/

Environmentalists estimate that at least 1 percent of Russia’s annual oil production, or 5 million tons, is spilled every year. That is equivalent to one Deepwater Horizon-scale leak about every two months. Crumbling infrastructure and a harsh climate combine to spell disaster in the world’s…

  4. ropcorn New Blog Post: http://ropcorn.com/d/itchy-scratchy-doggy-ears.html

My dog Lisen has normal sized hanging dog ears I think, which suits her pretty face so well. However she has had some issues with her right ear throughout her life, with for instance ear infections. Although a few of those ear infections were probably caused by the fact that she loves to swim…

Summer means swimming in the ocean! Although I'm not as brave as Lisen, who had her first swim of the year in the ocean (the Baltic Sea) at Verkö, Sweden today. And how she loved it!

  7. WAYLANDCOOK I had an intresting talk with a BP employee today.

Did you know that they have chemical plants in the US and they make chemicals that go nto clothing, tv screens, computer screens the bottles that we drink out of? Do they run these chemical plants the same way as the oil rigs? What happens if they have a spill at one of these? By the way this…

  11. LyndaLehmann i have no time to be on the computer this week. just wanna say hello to y'all and that i'm extremely upset at the limitless damage

    of this oil spill.

the food chain starts in the ocean, and it's kind of basic to our collective survival.

hope to be here more often in a week or two, and participating.

    LyndaLehmann

LyndaLehmann Figures. Will the likes of Dick Cheney and his legacy of corporate indulgence, greed and unaccountability, ever stop doing harm?

    LyndaLehmann

LyndaLehmann In order to create change, the PEOPLE need to find and muster their political will. It's not enough to just vote periodically.

I don't think it's in us, as a society. We're too spoiled and used to taking things for granted. And we have a collective psychic-numbing, brought on by too much fear and then seeking constant distraction (read: entertainment) to keep our minds off it! Just my 2 cents.
